Man Charged with Attempted Murder After Attack on Nurse

A Fort Walton Beach man was arrested after deputies say he attacked a nurse with a tire iron early Thursday morning.

27-year-old Raul Milla Jr. is charged with Attempted Felony Murder.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place around 3 a.m. near an employee parking lot at HCA Fort Walton Beach - Destin Hospital on Mar Walt Drive.

Deputies say the nurse was taking a work break near the parking lot when Milla blitz-attacked her with a tire iron.

The nurse told deputies they were struck five or six times in the head before being able to fight him off.

Deputies say the nurse suffered severe lacerations and swelling.

According to the sheriff's office, the nurse was able to give deputies a description of Milla and he was eventually found nearby riding a bike.

Deputies say they located a bloody tire iron in the bicycle basket and saw fresh blood stains on Milla's shirt.

Milla's in the Okaloosa County Jail without bond.
