- Insure Kids Now!—Every state in the nation has a health insurance program for people under 18. This website offered by the US Health and Human Services Dept. www.insurekidsnow.gov or call 877-Kids-Now.
- www.freemedicine.com—Provides prescription medication for people who do not have adequate insurance coverage or are experiencing financial hardship- no toll free number, but can be reached at 573-996-3333.
- Partnership for Prescription Assistance—Assistance program available to help offset the cost of supplies or prescription medicines. 1-888-477-2669 www.pparx.org
- Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services— http://www.cms.gov/
- National Drugstores and Pharmacy Chain Patient Assistance—Speak with your local pharmacist about their prescription programs. Stores with these programs include Costco, CVS, K-mart, Rite Aid, Target, Wal-mart, and others.
- United Healthcare Children’s Foundation—The Foundation provides financial assistance toward the family's share of the cost of medical services. www.uhccf.org
- Lilly Care - donates free insulin- a patient can apply for a 3 month supply of insulin for free. A patient must submit a new application each time he/she is applying. The patient needs the doctor’s involvement or letter stating the need for insulin. 800-545-6962.
- MedicAlert Foundation – provides a MedicAlert® membership and a basic stainless steel MedicAlert® ID for individuals unable to afford the cost. To receive an application, please call 800-432-5378.
- BD—provides money saving coupons for syringes and offers a onetime only coupon for a free box of syringes. Please call the Diabetes Help Line at 888-232-2737.
- Together Rx is a free prescription savings program for qualified individuals and families without prescription drug coverage. www.togetherrxaccess.com or call 800-444-4106
- Freedom Meds—Provides families without insurance with a diabetes care kit that includes a meter, lancet device, lancets, testing strips, control solution, and battery for $49. Call 888-722-7556 to purchase.
- Abby's All Stars - a non-profit organization, founded in 2007 with the goal to raise funds to help families offset the out of pocket uninsured medical expenses due to Juvenile Diabetes. For an application please visit www.abbysallstars.org.
