Ethnic and Racial Disparity in Healthcare in the United States

This course is designed for nurse clinicians in the United States caring for patients at risk for ethnic and racial healthcare disparity, leading to higher rates of chronic disease. The purpose of this course is to assist the nurse in becoming familiar with ethnic and racial disparities in healthcare in the United States, the impact they have on the development, treatment, and outcome of chronic disease, and initiatives that can be taken to address these disparities, decreasing ethnic and racial disparity in healthcare, leading to improved patient health and healthcare, lessening the burden of chronic disease in the United States.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course participants will be able to:
