Course Name  Hours Course Description
Intravenous Antibiotics: Where We Are and Where We're Going: Additional Classifications 2.00  There are numerous antimicrobial classifications; too numerous to include in one all-inclusive course. As such, Pedagogy has developed a series of courses covering intravenous antimicrobial agents. This course examines several antibiotic classifications, specifically aminoglycosides, fluoroquinolones, lincosamides, macrolides, oxazolidinones, streptogamins and tetracyclines. Each of these classifications contain one to three currently approved I.V. medications.
Intravenous Antibiotics: Where We Are and Where We're Going: Antifungals 1.00 Until the late 1960’s few antifungal agents were available. Although new medications significantly changed the treatment of these infections, antifungal resistance has already forced an ever-increasing arsenal of drugs. In this often-changing landscape, the nurse needs a working knowledge of the antimicrobial agents available, and competency to infuse these medications in all the various administration systems in use today. This course examines the available intravenous antifungal medications.
Intravenous Antibiotics: Where We Are and Where We're Going: Antivirals 1.50 Antiviral antibiotics have only been available for less than 70 years but antiviral resistance has already forced an ever-increasing arsenal of drugs. In this often- changing landscape, the nurse needs a working knowledge of the antimicrobial agents available, and competency to infuse these medications in all the various administration systems in use today. This course examines the available intravenous antiviral medications.
Intravenous Antibiotics: Where We Are and Where We're Going: ß-lactams 2.00  I.V. antibiotics have been administered for nearly a century but bacterial resistance has forced an ever-increasing arsenal of drugs. In this often- changing landscape, the nurse needs a working knowledge of the antimicrobial agents available, and competency to infuse these medications in all the various administration systems in use today. This course examines the medication family known as beta-lactam antibiotics, and the various classes of drugs within this family.
Intravenous Antibiotics: Where We Are and Where We're Going: Glycopeptides 1.50 I.V. antibiotics have been administered for nearly a century but bacterial resistance has forced an ever-increasing arsenal of drugs. In this often- changing landscape, the nurse needs a working knowledge of the antimicrobial agents available, and competency to infuse these medications in all the various administration systems in use today. This course examines the medication family known as glycopeptide antibiotics, and the various classes of drugs within this family.
