This course is designed for critical care nurses who assess and manage delirium in the intensive care unit. The purpose of this course is to provide nurses and other healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to assess, care for, and intervene on behalf of patients experiencing delirium. The course will discuss the ICU patient risk factors for delirium, the role of the bedside nurse in the treatment and management of delirium, and the impact of impact benzodiazepine, opioid use, and methods to prevent delirium.
