This course is designed to inform nurse clinicians about the health disparities of those living in the Appalachia region of the United States and how it affects the health of the community and the overall health of the nation. This course is designed to increase awareness and education for the need for accessible, affordable healthcare for those living in the Appalachian region. Additionally, the course is designed to support educating practitioners on the current risk factors of the population and encourage implementation of programs and policies to improve health and healthcare delivery systems in the Appalachia.
