Special Issues in Corrections

The particulars of the incarcerated patient population and the characteristics of the secure environment of care lead to increased healthcare activity involving several nursing concerns. This module provides important information regarding three key concerns for correctional nurses – suicide assessment and intervention; substance withdrawal observation and management; and reducing the spread of infections in a closed setting such as a correctional facility.

This is a video-style course with text content located at the end of the chapter.
