The purpose of this continuing education program is to inform and educate healthcare providers about the factors involved in caring for neonates with bronchopulmonary dysplasia. These infants are often extremely immature, have a very low birth weight, and have significant weight loss during the first 10 days of life. Since the introduction of surfactant replacement, the survival of the most immature infants has improved. This course will help the healthcare provider understand the complex issues surrounding the care for these tiny babies.
